a5c7b9f00b By the mid-21st Century, humankind has colonized the oceans and formed the UEO–the United Earth Oceans–as a military organization to police it. Formerly a high-ranking member of the UEO, Nathan Bridger retired after the death of his wife, and retreated to an isolated island to study dolphins. An attempt is made to hijack the Seaquest DSV, the UEO's most powerful undersea vessel, and Nathan–its original designer–is convinced to return to active service, to assume command of it. His second in command is Cmdr. Jonathan Ford. In second season, the DSV added Dagwood, a prototype GELF (Genetically Engineered Life Form), Tony Piccolo, a man with surgically implanted gills, and Dr. Wendy Smith, a telepath/empath, to its crew of specialists. The series has New Age leanings, often presenting stories that deal with environmental issues or mix myth and mysticism–from ghosts to "gods"–into its science fiction. In the early 21st century, mankind has colonized the oceans. The United Earth Oceans Organization enlists Captain Nathan Bridger and the submarine seaQuest DSV to keep the peace and explore the last frontier on Earth. Tis true. The show was the best on the planet.. and not only because of the babe rating of the scantily clad crew. The plot lines were completely different from season to season so no matter who you are, there was always something you would like. Season one was scientific and appealed to the inquiring mind. Season 2 was comical and spoof-like appealing to anyone with a humorous bone in their body and season 3 dealt with war and the darker side of the politics of the future. I miss the show and I know I'm not alone. Even though you could tell some of the graphics of the ocean were kinda hokey, it was incredible! I was obsessed with the show, just ask my siblings. However, I missed the series itself by a year or so, but I became addicted to the reruns. I always loved how Bridger told off the higher command when they needed a kick in the butt, and I also thought that it was pretty cool that Mark Hamill had a recurring character. The last time I saw reruns were about two or three years ago on the Sci-Fi channel.
